5 Ways to Develop Your Intuition

Even If You Don't "Feel" Anything Yet

You don't need a special gift to develop your intuition. You need practice. And a lot less self doubt. Intuition is a skill. Just like any skill, it gets stronger the more you use it.

Story

I Almost Talked Myself Out Of It

"That's random," I thought. And kept folding laundry.

I was folding laundry on a regular Tuesday when a name popped into my head. Clear as day. No warning, no reason.

Ten minutes later, my phone rang. It was her. I almost didn't answer, because I told myself I was being silly. I answered anyway. She needed to talk. Right then.

That's the moment I learned something I still teach today. My intuition doesn't wait for perfect timing. It shows up in the laundry room. My job is just to notice it before I talk myself out of it.

You're already receiving it. You just need to trust it.

The 5 Ways

Developing Your Intuition

01

Start small

Practice on the low stakes stuff first. Which line to stand in. Which route to take. Trusting yourself in tiny moments builds the muscle for the bigger ones. You don't start with the biggest decision of your life. You start with a checkout line.

02

Track it

Keep a running note of your gut feelings. Write down what you felt. Then write down what actually happened. Patterns show up fast once you're looking for them. Your intuition has been talking to you the whole time. You just weren't keeping score.

03

Notice your body first

Chills. A tight stomach. A sudden wave of calm. Your body often knows before your brain catches up. Pay attention there before you start overthinking it. Your mind wants to analyze. Your body already knows.

04

Say it out loud before you have proof

Tell someone your hit before you know if it's right. This feels scary. Do it anyway. Getting witnessed in your accuracy builds trust faster than journaling alone. Someone else sees you be right. That changes everything.

05

Get quiet on purpose

Intuition gets drowned out by noise. A few minutes of stillness a day gives it room to actually land. Meditation. A walk. No phone. That's it. That's the practice.

FAQ

A Few Questions You Might Have

How long does it take to develop intuition?

There's no set timeline. Some people notice a shift in a few weeks. For others, it takes longer. It depends on how much self doubt you're working through. Give yourself grace. This is a practice, not a race.

What's the difference between intuition and anxiety?

Anxiety spirals. It asks what if, over and over. Intuition is quieter. It's a single, clear knowing, and it usually comes with calm underneath, even when the message itself is hard. Anxiety builds. Intuition just is.

Do I need to meditate to build intuition?

No. Meditation helps because it gets you quiet, but stillness can come in any form. A walk. A drive with no music. A few quiet minutes before bed. Find the version that actually feels doable for you.

Can intuition be wrong?

Yes. You're not a perfect channel, and neither is anyone else. Sometimes fear or fatigue gets mixed in with the message. That's normal. That's why you practice. The more you use it, the clearer it gets.
